Kournas Lake

Crete’s only freshwater lake. It is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3,5 km , it covers an area of 160,000 square metres, with a depth of up to 25 metres. The landscape is lovely, it lies in a valley among the hills, about 4 km from Georgioupolis in Chania prefecture (west Crete).You can either go for a walk in the countryside, swim , ride a pedalo on the lake, or feed the numerous ducks which start quaking all together!
